2021 – Christmas Blessing

“Let there be light.”

From these very first words God spoke in the Book of Genesis,

To the star of Bethlehem that shone so brightly in the Gospel of Matthew,

To the candles that Jewish people use to celebrate

The Hanukkah miracle of faith triumphing over evil,

To twinkling bulbs on our Christmas trees and displays,

Every major religion speaks a language of light.

Light destroys darkness; It Illuminates; it warms; it lifts spirits.

At the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus says,

“You are the salt of the earth” and You are the light of the world.”

Jesus makes it clear that we ourselves are to become a people of light.

Covid-19 has brought much heartbreak.

Family and friends have passed away, leaving in our hearts

Memories of past good times.

We pray for those who have left us and also for their families.

We ask God to bless those who have helped us during these trying times.

We thank our Hero’s.

This year we at The House of the Dove celebrates our Heroes.

The First Responders, Nurses, Doctors, Caregivers,

Paramedics, EMT’s, Police Officers,

Firefighters, Military Services and School Teachers.

May God bless them and all who walk thru the gates

of the House of the Dove

May your light shine in helping others that they may see

Your good deeds and glorify your Heavenly Father.

“You are the light of the world.”
